1 (16-oz.) pkg. Farmland® Smoked Sausage Rope - Polska Kielbasa, cut into 4 pieces
olive oil
4 ciabatta rolls, or hoagie sandwich rolls, sliced in half lengthwise
8 slices Swiss cheese
1 (14-oz.) can sauerkraut with caraway seed, well drained
thousand island dressing, or spicy mustard
Preparation
Heat gas or charcoal grill to medium. Slice each sausage piece in half lengthwise. Grill sausage until internal temperature reaches 160°F., turning once.
Meanwhile, brush cut sides of rolls lightly with olive oil. Place cut-side down on grill to toast. Place slice of cheese on toasted surface immediately upon removing from grill.
Place two pieces kielbasa on top of Swiss cheese on bottom of each roll. Spoon 1/4 cup well-drained sauerkraut on top of sausage. Place top bun with Swiss cheese over sausage.
If desired, brush outside of sandwiches with olive oil. Place on grill until toasted, pressing down with metal spatula to flatten sandwich. Carefully turn sandwich and toast other side, again pressing down with spatula. Serve with Thousand Island dressing or spicy mustard.
